For a while, I was really into uploading eBooks along with my in-page notes to various note-taking apps, like this:

It made it look like I read a lot of books.

It made it look like I took a lot of notes.

In the end, I gave up because I didn’t have the energy, and honestly, it wasn’t meaningful at all.

To me, books are meant to influence me, not enslave me. The parts of a book that leave a deep impression on me will naturally resurface later on.
